Some legends
Yesterday while going through some texts in my bookshelf I found again the story of Herman Cortés and the burning of the ships, leaving his army with no option to return and leaving the only alternative of going to conquer the Aztec empire; in the quick reflections it came to me how in difficult moments if there is no alternative food, it forces the best out of us -of course in most cases, not all-.
History records that «alea iacta est» – «the die is cast» – is attributed to the words of Caesar when he crossed the Rubicon – the river that separates Gaul from Italy – and with this determination he defeated his rivals and managed to reach Rome, where no legion had marched for centuries.
Personal vessels and rivers
I remembered when in a triathlon competition -Ironman 70.3- I pedaled more than 60 kilometers on my bike with unbearable cramps in my body – this because the position with which the bike was assembled was wrong and no longer fit with the posture with which I was training during the previous months causing muscle fatigue in the new muscles that I used in the journey-, I had no choice but to move forward, I reached the finish line with tremendous effort but with the enormous satisfaction of having exceeded my own limits – I reflect that once the competition begins you burn the ships, there is no Uber that saves you, you have to finish- .
I also remembered the day I had a helicopter accident, I was next to the pilot and instead of freezing in panic, I dedicated myself to help him recognize the route to define where we would land over the city; I had no other choice so I stayed awake.

To connect the dots
