The proposal is as follows
The bid amount is paid around Q 15,000 and with that: They install 4 solar panels for which they need 8 square meters of roof area. They install a device called an «inverter» that transfers the DC power generated by the panels to AC power from the grid.
The installed capacity of 1. 64 Kw, they offer that 300 Q of savings can be achieved if there are no shadows, ask what does it mean about shadows? And after thinking about it, I concluded that because it is logical, solar generation is naturally affected if the sun does not reach it directly, or if there is a shadow.
They do the paperwork with the distribution company, in my house it is EEGSA. I thought it was very good! they are the ones who know and it is better that they do the paperwork. They assume that they can put all the cables in the house and do the electrical installation, they don’t need to visit the house. – I have a doubt here, what happens if something goes wrong? will I have to pay more? will they give me my money back?
It can be monitored through an application via the Internet and know in real time what it produces – fun, Chinese origin – no comments, there are Chinese technology of all kinds –
My current consumption is 700 kWh per month on average and this solar system can supply up to 200 kWh or 30% of my consumption, which means that it replaces a very basic part of my consumption, not all of it, and I would not risk wasting energy by not consuming it.
I did my quick calculations, I assumed that if it is a reliable energy generation proposal, the payback time of the investment is = Q15,000 investment /Q 300 – monthly savings- = 50 months! That is, with this offer, after 50 months I would recover the initial investment and then I would receive financial returns by supplying clean solar energy -if nothing unexpected happens before- and it represents 30% of what I consume. The offer indicates that the technology is guaranteed for 10 years, and that the electricity rates are expected to be stable -although it is more likely that they will go up-, besides it is renewable energy, the investment starts to make sense!
On the other hand, I am recently hearing a lot of news about the environmental deterioration of the world and that a new environmental conference COP26 is coming, and it is announced that prices are rising in the market due to the problems of global supply chains; all this led me to ask myself: Is this the best time to invest? will there be another alternative supplier?
I think the next step is to get more information and look for alternatives with contractors in the solar sector in Guatemala, they will be more sophisticated and will surely give me more information for the decision.
Today I contacted a company and we have agreed on a meeting, I will surely move forward and close the information gaps to present proposals with complete information to the board of directors of my company.
