Beginning to explore why an issue of global importance such as the energy transition to zero emissions is not well publicized in Guatemala.

A matter that will surely have many nuances.

It has caught my attention that in Guatemala, a leading country in many aspects related to the energy market, the term «Energy Transition» has not been coined with all the breadth that is done in other parts of the world, even when there have been public policies that positively impact the energy transition of the country, important investments, and many people and professionals from all sectors such as academia, trade, industry, trade associations, government, cooperation, NGOs, banks, the term has not been coined.

There are investors and associations of thermoelectric generators, co-generators, renewables, solar, renewable fuels, electric mobility, which inherently promote important elements of the energy transition: energy efficiency projects, participation in green bond markets, alignment with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), incorporation of new and more efficient technologies, renewable distributed generation, data analysis in energy systems, real-time energy management, energy storage, decarbonization, optimizations in combined cycle plants, electric mobility, conversion of plants to natural gas, many initiatives, and yet they do not use the integrating term «energy transition» – understood as zero net emissions.

I confirmed my concern when I searched in a web search engine and found only one topic related to the energy transition – on the first page of the search engine – why?

My first approach to explain the problem is to think that the country and society as a whole has advanced so far in the subject that it has not realized that it is now convenient to group the concepts to communicate them better and that is in the interest of all of us.

Or, is it that he is looking in the mirror and forgot about the world around him, I don’t think so.

It seems to be a communication issue that can better support the social evolution, a matter of public policy, so it seems that it is up to the Ministry of Energy to collaborate with everyone in coordinating, being a leader and guiding the momentum, so that there is an effective collective action for the energy transition.

I kept thinking about how to convey this idea, then I answered myself: promoting this on the blog of course.
